Cylinders

All HyperCyl© cylinders operate on a basis of ratios. Input air pressure (PSI) multiplied by the Working Ratio of a respective cylinder determines the cylinder Output Force.

F=Input PSI x Working Ratio.

Cylinders Series

HPI Series

The Inline “HPI” series cylinder is a totally self-contained, single-piece power source ideally suited for a wide variety of Assembly and Forming applications using only two (2) pneumatic valves for operation. Available from 1-Ton to 200-Tons and up to 16.00″ stroke, and 2.00″ power stroke (depending on force required).

Advantages:

  • Single component system

  • Quickest series of the line-up

  • Linear Transducer compatible (LTI only)

HPS Series

The HPS Series design provides a very compact package where space is limited or where strokes are long. The “HPS” Series satellite cylinder is a totally self-contained and cost-effective power source while permitting the working cylinder to be located up to 10 ft. from the booster/reservoir for ease of mounting/operation. Both components may be mounted in any position or attitude. Multiple working cylinders can be operated with a single booster/reservoir unit, application dependent.

Standard designs available in sizes from 1-Ton to 200-Tons, up to 8.00″ stroke and 1.00″ power stroke.

Advantages:

  • Multiple mounting configurations

  • Wide selections on strokes

  • Most overall options available in a given series

  • Initiation of power stroke anywhere within the total stroke

  • Custom strokes available

  • Custom rod ends available

HPT Series

The “HPT” Series tandem cylinder is a totally self-contained, cost-effective power source ideally suited for a wide variety of assembly and forming applications. Available in sizes from 1 to 10 tons, up to 8.00″ stroke, and 1.00″ power stroke, the HPT Series cylinder line provides a compact package where space is limited.

Advantages:

  • Single Component System

  • LT and LTI Compatible

  • More Options Than HPI Series

  • Shorter Than HPI Series

  • Special Strokes Available

  • Special Rod Ends Available

HZ Series

The “HZ” Series High Speed cylinder is a totally self-contained, cost-effective power source ideally suited for Piercing, riveting, notching, clamping, marking, coining and assembly applications where short stroke, High Speed/High Force operation is required.
Available in sizes from 1 to 30 tons and 1.00″ of power stroke, the HZ cylinder design provides a single unit without hydraulic hoses in a very compact package where space is limited.

Advantages:

  • Fastest of the lineup

  • Single component

  • One valve operation

  • LTI available

  • Special power strokes available

HZS Series

The “HZS” is ideal for use in piercing, riveting, notching, clamping, marking, coining, and assembly applications where short-stroke, high speed, high force operation is desirable. This unit is ideal for situations where a low profile is required and is ideal when replacing short stroke Hydraulic cylinders without the mess, noise and maintenance of comparable Hydraulic counterparts.

Advantages:

  • Multiple mounting configurations

  • Multiple work section to 1 booster available

  • Most options available for PS only series

  • Wide selection on power strokes
  • special rod ends

INTELLICYL Series

The IntelliCyl is the successful combination of HyperCyl’s hydra-pneumatic cylinder systems and state of the art electronic technology. IntelliCyl was designed for applications where continuous monitoring of materials and processes is critical to the successful assembly of components.

IntelliCyl consists of two options:

1) Low voltage Linear transducer (LVLT)
2) Fully integrated Load Cell installed on the end of the cylinder rod.

Both devices provide for an analog feedback signal through an analog card to the PLC. The feedback signals indicate distance (cylinder travel) to +-.001″ and force(lbs.) applied to the tooling.

The ability to monitor cylinder and tooling travel and force during the assembly process allows for:

  • Quality Improvement through in-process verification

  • IntelliCyl, HyperView-Press – verify dimensional stack-ups before you do work, and monitor the assembly process while you do work

  • May eliminate costly EOL testing and destructive testing

  • Drives quality into your assemblies. Drives out deviation

  • Traceability – long-term data collection

HPX Series

HyperCyl Compact Satellite (HPX) Unit. HPX Series cylinders provide longer total and power strokes in a smaller overall length than traditional HPS units. The HPX series cylinder is a Self-contained system without the need for external reservoirs.

Fast-approach then high-pressure stroke permits a “soft-touch” with tooling contact and permits monitoring of stack-up height PRIOR to high-pressure stroke.
Two pneumatic valves for operation make this the ideal choice for an efficient, low cost yet long-life pressing & forming cylinder.

Advantages:

  • Multiple mounting configurations

  • Widest selection on strokes

  • Shortest and lightest work section of all series

  • Multiple work section to one booster compatible

  • Power stroke anywhere within total stroke

  • Special strokes/rod ends

Up to 5000 PSI hydraulic at 100psi inlet

  • Designed for single acting clamps and lifter rails

  • Engineered to your specifications

  • Operate multiple clamps/lifters

  • Compact design

  • SAE o-ring NO LEAK connection
